Hi James,

You beat me to it!

I've just booked these dates today aswell. I'm 25, from Belfast and have been waiting to do my assessment for about 3 years so I am a bit nervous already! How's your preparation coming on? Where are you staying during assessment?

Speak soon

Hi Richard,
Just glad someone has replied. Thought it was a little early to post. What have you been doing the past few years then? How are you getting to Oxford? Iv just came back from
a 2week holiday. I'm having my head in the mental arithmatic and physic books over the next 5weeks. I'm taking a quick flight lesson to top up for the simulator I think. What about yourself?

Nah not too early! Perfect timing I'd say!
I've just had a bit of trouble getting my medical so I finally got it 2 weeks ago so now I've given myself a few weeks to prepare and to get the time off work. I'm going to be doing the exact same thing, I've dug out my old GCSE maths and physics revision guides and done a bit of stuff online. ( Have you tried the EPST test? It's pretty good ! ) I've got a lesson in a couple of weeks aswell so I just hope I'll be ready!
I will be flying into Luton the night before but am not sure yet where I am going to be staying. What are your plans?

Iv been a ski instructor the last 3years. This is my 2nd assessment. I had my first when I was 19, I scored a little low on maths and sim, was told to hav a few lessons and try again in 6months. I took around 16hours flight time, then realised I was a little young to for something like this. I then booked myself onto a ski program in Canada, got certified and worked 2years in australia. It was all great fun and exciting but it was only ever for experience. Iv wanted to be a pilot all my life, and now I'm ready to go for it. If you don't get on accomm, the bnb's are close, and we can meet the night before and meet for a drink and chat if you fancy? Have you visited an open day?

Good luck guys and wish you all the best...

I'd recommend you all stay on-site accommodation, I've done mine a month ago although I failed it in all parts..I thought it is easy and didn't pay attention to prepare for it. So guys you all have big time till this day,PREPARE 4 IT !!

ALL THE BEST & enjoy the sim ride !!

I'm actually pretty jealous! I was considering going to New Zealand earlier this year to do a season! I love skiing ( although I'm not that good ) been 4/5 times and it's the best holidays. A couple of good friends of mine did a season in Whistler a couple of years back.
Well at least you have a good idea of what to expect this time! What part you most worried about?
Yeah I was at an open day last May, just made me even more impatient and wanting to start sooner!!
A drink and a chat sounds like a plan! Hopefully some more might join the discussion soon and may want to join us!

Thanks for the advice Captain2be

I just got back from Canada 2months ago, I was there 5months. Well the maths and sim was my downfall, so il be on top of that for the next few weeks. Having done it once, gladly I do have a little insight to it, but still, il be heading to Oxford open minded. My email is jmcminn86@yahoo.co.uk if you want a chat about anything. Plus it has been 4years since my last so il be in the same position as you. Yeh give it a couple of weeks I'm sure we will get others on here
